Man Jailed After Domestic Dispute, Assault in Town of Westfield

A Westfield man is being held in the Chautauqua County Jail following two separate incidents on consecutive days at the same address in the Town of Westfield.

According to Westfield Police, the first incident was a reported domestic dispute at 7651 Route 20 shortly after 5:45 PM Wednesday. An investigation determined that 24-year-old Levi Cross was involved in a verbal argument with a female, which led to a physical altercation in which he allegedly pushed her to the ground multiple times while in the presence of a three-year-old child. The victim told officers that Cross had fled the scene before police arrived. On Thursday, Westfield Police were called to the same address for a reported fight and determined that Cross allegedly entered the residence through a window and began a physical altercation with a male victim, who suffered injuries to his head during the incident that also happened in the presence of a three-year-old child. The assault victim was taken to Westfield Memorial Hospital for evaluation. Cross again fled the scene, but State Police located him nearby and took him into custody on a warrant.

Cross was arraigned at the County Jail on charges of 1st-degree criminal contempt, endangering the welfare of a child and 2nd-degree harassment from the Wednesday incident, along with 2nd-degree burglary, 3rd-degree assault and endangering the welfare of child from the Thursday incident.
