Altered State Distillery holds Arts and Casks event for local attendees

The warm weather drew in dozens to a local distillery on Sunday for one of its summer events.

On July 13, Altered State Distillery held its Arts and Casks event on West 8th Street, bringing live music, vendors and specialty drinks to the distillery’s parking lot.

Family holds 9th annual car cruise in memory of late father

Allman brothers cover band, Blue Sky, provided the music, while attendees enjoyed the nice weather with a bloody mary or a slushie.

The event also raised money for the upcoming Blues and Jazz Fest, which kicks off on Saturday, August 2.

Gavin Maus, owner and distiller at Altered State Distillery, said, “It’s a wonderful place, wonderful for families, during the day especially. It’s a great experience; everything we do is craft. We use Lake Erie water. We use Girard grains. Everything we do is local, so we’re very proud of what we do, and we encourage everybody to come see us.”…
