Boil water advisory lifted for Village of Fredonia water customers

(WJET/WFXP) – A boil water advisory issued last week has been lifted.

On Tuesday, July 15, the Chautauqua County Health Department and the Village of Fredonia announced that the boil water advisory issued on July 8 has been lifted.

Although the water has since been properly treated, the village and health department ask customers to conserve water when possible, as “a large increase in demand could disrupt the balance that has recently been restored to water treatment plant operations.”

Some ways residents can reduce their water usage include:

  • Taking shorter showers
  • Turn off the water while shaving, brushing teeth, etc.
  • Only run your dishwasher or washing machine when full
  • Avoid watering lawns or flowers and washing cars
