Plans to pave 6.5 miles of Edinboro area roads starting Monday

(WJET/WFXP)– Work to resurface a little over six-and-a-half miles of road in the Edinboro area, along with some other upgrades, is set to start soon.

PennDOT announced that crews will be 2.54 miles of Route 6N from the, and another 4.03 miles of Route 699 in the Borough of Edinboro and Washington Township starting on Monday, July 21, with weather permitting.

Route 6 project nearing end, enters final phase

The area of Route 6N from the Interstate 79 interchange to the intersection with Route 699 and Route 699 (Erie Street) from the intersection with Old State Road (Route 3014) to the intersection with Route 6N in Edinboro will all be resurfaced.

Crews will also be doing milling work and installing ADA-compliant ramps where needed, updating drainage and guiderails, roadway markers, and roadway line painting.

During this time, drivers should be on the lookout for traffic pattern shifts and lane restrictions and anticipate travel delays during active work hours.

The project is expected to be done by October 2025 and will cost $2,786.138.34 using state funds…
