Fairview Twp. mosquito tests positive for West Nile virus, third in county for 2025

(WJET/WFXP) – Another mosquito has tested positive for West Nile virus in Erie County.

On Tuesday, July 22, the Erie County Department of Health confirmed that a third mosquito has tested positive for West Nile virus in the county this year.

The mosquito sample that tested positive was collected in Fairview Township on July 15.

At this time, the health department said there have been no human reported cases in the county.
