New disc golf course opens up in Millcreek Township

If getting in a round of disc golf is on your list this summer, a newly minted course has sprung up in Millcreek.

Thursday night, the Erie County Community College cut the ribbon on 18 holes of disc golf laid out on three properties, including the former Villa Maria campus.

The designer of the course has created nine other courses around the area and said this one is great for beginners. He also said the 18 holes can be played in around an hour. He spoke about how the 18 holes came to be.

“We got 6 holes here at the colleg, found out there was land in the backthat Prep let us use, so we put in another three holes to make this a nine-hole course, and then the Montesorri next door wanted a course, so we now have 18 holes,” said Brandon Borgia, president of the Lake Erie Disc Golf Club.
