Motorcycle Crash in Girard Sends Two to Hospital, State Police Still Investigating

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a serious crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV that occurred just before 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Route 20 and Westgate Drive in Girard.

According to investigators, a 27-year-old SUV driver attempted to make a left turn and failed to see the oncoming motorcycle. The bike, carrying a couple from Erie, collided with the vehicle, throwing both riders from the motorcycle.

The 60-year-old male driver and his 55-year-old female passenger sustained serious injuries. One was transported to UPMC Hamot by ambulance, while the other was flown by medical helicopter. The driver of the SUV was not injured…
