An afternoon fire destroyed a mobile home in the Village of Brocton on Tuesday and landed one person in the hospital. The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office says firefighters from Brocton, Portland and Westfield responded to the Crestview Estates at 133 Lake Avenue shortly before 2:00 PM for a report of a fire with entrapment at Lot 27. A male living there was transported by Brocton ambulance to the Hamot Medical Center in Erie. An investigator tells WDOE News that the fire originated in a bedroom, but the cause has not been determined at this time.
