(WJET/WFXP)– Construction work on the new roundabout connecting Sassafras Street to the Bayfront Parkway is entering its final phase with the expectation of being ready before the parkway closes, PennDOT announced Wednesday.
With the final phase comes a shift in traffic at Sassafras Street Extension and the Bayfront Parkway, taking out the temporary traffic light and eastbound traffic being moved to the other side of the soon-to-be-opened roundabout.

Traffic on Sassafras Street Extension will be able to turn right (westbound) onto the parkway only. Drivers wanting to go eastbound will be detoured to West Front Street Extension and State Street.
