St. Paul’s Italian Festival returning to Erie

A taste of Italy is returning to Erie, and parishioners are preparing for the celebration.

The Italian Festival will take place at St. Paul’s Church from Friday, August 8, through Sunday, August 10.

Scott Enterprises announces results of National Lasagna Day fundraiser

Volunteers are expecting to serve roughly 8,000 patrons with their famous spaghetti, meatballs, subs, pizzelles and more.

Tim NeCastro, the chairman of the festival, said that they began planning in February and preparing food as early as the middle of June.

Future Focused Academy helps young people with car questions

“We do this as a fundraiser first, but it’s also become somewhat of a reunion for the neighborhood,” NeCastro said. “Many of the people that grew up here are of Italian heritage — they come back for the festival, and many of the neighbors that are here now have become honorary Italians, and they come and visit with us a lot, every year, as well. This year, we look like we’re blessed with some great weather, and so, it’s going to be a great community event.”…
