Per Crime Grade, Chautauqua County has an overall crime grade of B-. When it comes to violent crime the grade is lower at C. The property crime grade is C-, and the “other” crime grade is B-. A crime happens in Chautauqua County on average every four hours. Chautauqua County residents are 300 percent more likely to have their home burglarized if they don’t have a home security system.
Crime Grade says that Chautauqua County is in the 59th percentile for safety. That means that 41 percent of counties are safer than it and 59 percent of counties are more dangerous. The crime rate in the county is 16.75 per 1,000 residents and the eastern part of the county is considered the safest.
