JCC Gets Visit from SUNY Chancellor King

Fredonia was not the only stop in Chautauqua County made by SUNY Chancellor John King, Jr. on Thursday. King also visited Jamestown Community College, where he toured the Veterans Student Lounge and Nursing program classrooms and labs, and also met with JCC leadership, faculty and students. His visit was part of his SUNY Reconnect tour across the state.

During the visit, King spotlighted JCC’s Associate’s degree program in nursing, which is eligible for the SUNY Reconnect program. Additional JCC SUNY Reconnect eligible programs include degrees in other health care fields, advanced manufacturing, computer technology, and education. He also highlighted JCC’s day care center on the Cattaraugus County Campus in partnership with the Twin Tiers YMCA, which helps address essential childcare needs and is part of the college’s efforts to ensure adult learners are able to focus on their coursework.

Through meeting with current and graduated JCC military veteran students, King learned more about JCC’s commitment to active duty military members, veterans, reservists, National Guard, dependents, and spouses.
