Two people were transported to Brooks Memorial Hospital after a car struck a horse Friday night on Route 20 in the Town of Pomfret. Chautauqua County dispatchers say the crash occurred between North Road and Farel Road shortly before 10:00 PM. In a Facebook post, the Fredonia Fire Department stated that both people in the vehicle suffered non-life threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital via ambulance. The horse was pronounced dead at the scene. The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and State Police also responded.
