Gas Prices Hold Steady as Labor Day Weekend Nears

As the Labor Day holiday weekend approaches, the nationwide average price for a gallon of gas has increased over the past week, while little movement occurred at the state and county levels. AAA reports that the national average as of Monday is $3.16, which is up more than two cents since the previous Monday. New York State’s average saw it average decline by a fraction of a penny to $3.15, and the average price at the pump in Chautauqua County ticked upward by a fraction of a cent to $3.29. One year ago, the national and statewide averages were $3.35 and $3.51, respectively.
