East 7th Street vacant house catches fire, damaging neighboring homes

A vacant home on Erie’s east side catches fire early Thursday morning.

Calls for the fire going out just after 2:30 in the 300 block of East 7th Street.

Concerns rise as squatters suspected of starting recent abandoned house fires

According to Erie Fire Department Deputy Chief Fred Gillespie, no one was found inside of the home and there were no injuries to mention.

Gillespie also mentioned that there was another call for a fire at this vacant home around a month ago.
