Heberle’s Heartstrings holds open mic competition to honor memory

A special competition was held to remember a local musician on Sunday.

The Jason Heberle Open Mic Competition returned for its third year at Voodoo Brewing Company.

Erie Blues & Jazz Fest: Celebrating music and unity

The event served as a way to remember Jason Herberle and support local artists, giving them a chance to perform and get exposure.

Jeff Chiaramonte, founder of Heberle’s Heartstrings, said, “We’re getting anywhere from new artists all the way up to veteran artists, people who have been touring. We’ve seen people that started with us doing the competition as a first time ever on stage that are now touring around locally or some are nationally.”
