Funding for the first two phases of renovation for the former Miller Brothers property has moved forward in Erie City Council, but they are still looking for a way to cover the third phase.
During their meeting on Wednesday morning, Erie City Council amended the bond down to $20 million instead of $30 million.

This funds the first two phases of transforming the building into a facility for public safety and public works.
Councilman Chuck Nelson says this gives the city time to address the third phase without any cost to the taxpayer.

“The first phase will start almost immediately and the second phase will go out to bid here shortly. Those are things that are ready to be in the works. We have to get through those to get to the third phase, so that’ll give us more tim,e maybe for interest rates to go down to find additional funding sources,” he said…
