A beloved Erie Brig is undergoing renovations in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, but the captain said she is expected to make a return to Erie waters.
As of June 5, the U.S. Brig Niagara arrived after 2,000 miles from Erie to Boothbay Harbor, then 20 days later put on the marine railway to undergo a year’s worth of renovations.
Those renovations include the stem, re-powering the ship with new engines and generators, and fixing and upgrading the domestic systems and electronic navigation systems…
