Local Results Revealed for End-of-Summer Crackdown on Impaired Driving

Chautauqua County Sheriff Jim Quattrone has released the local results of the statewide High Visibility Engagement Campaign for the end-of-summer period. Quattrone, who coordinates the county’s STOP-DWI program, says police agencies in the county conducted a total of 166 vehicle stops and detained two vehicles for secondary screening during the crackdown that ran from August 13th through September 1st. The Sheriff’s Office, municipal law enforcement agencies, and State Police all participated in the campaign involving the vigorous enforcement of laws related to impaired driving. The campaign was funded by a grant from the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee.
