Fall Foliage in Erie

As summer fades, nature’s beauty is stepping into full display. From fiery maples to golden oaks the leaves are transforming right in front of our eyes.

In our region sugar maples, pines and oaks are native. A local Tree Museum allows you to take a self-guided tour to learn about trees.

Lake Erie Arboretum at Frontier is home to over 1000 trees. The organization’s Program Director Hannah Rhodes says, “We’re in partial foliage right now, so that means we still have peak foliage to come which is exciting. I always notice it’s starting to turn fall when the red maples go. They get the tinge of red first. You can kind of walk through the park at this point and kind of notice the transition going on.”…
