(WJET/WFXP)– A Chautauqua County man is facing more than 25 counts of animal cruelty charges after police said he poisoned several dogs he kept at his home.
Chautauqua County deputies arrested 64-year-old Scott Humble of North Harmony, NY, for allegedly poisoning 10 dogs, resulting in eight of them dying, while keeping another six dogs and a cat in what they called deplorable conditions.

Deputies said they first learned about the animals’ condition from a complaint filed at the local humane society before making contact with Humble. After speaking with him, deputies said they got a search warrant for his property off of Route 394 near the Town of North Harmony.
Once deputies got inside, they found the 10 Samoyed dogs in cages, all of which had been poisoned, with eight having already died and still in their cages. They also said he had another two dogs living without any shelter…
