The annual Blue Mass ceremony takes place Monday evening at St. Francis Xavier. This event is part of a national Catholic Church service that commemorates the daily sacrifices of first responders such as law enforcement officers, veterans, and EMS personnel.
We spoke with one of the coordinators, Don Benczkowski, who encouraged everyone in the community to attend to show their support, even if they are not personally connected to first responders.

“We want people from all segments of the community to come out to, you know, to show all of our first responders not only respect but that we care about them, and we think about them and we want to make sure that we pray for them,” Benczkowski said.
He also mentioned that the significance of Sept. 29th is that it is the Feast of Archangel Michael, who is the Patron Saint of God’s armies…
