ERIE, Pennsylvania — The Millcreek School District is not fielding any questions about the former school district superintendent, Ian Roberts, who was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agents on Friday for allegedly living and working in the United States illegally.
Reached for comment about the school district’s superintendent from July 2020 to 2023, officials would only point to a single statement on the entity’s website.
“We are aware of recent reports regarding our former superintendent’s detention by federal immigration authorities,” the statement reads. “This news is deeply concerning, and our thoughts are with the Des Moines community during this uncertain time. Out of respect for the legal process, and because this matter is unrelated to Mill Creek Township school district, we will not be commenting beyond offering this statement and the below facts.”…
