A major repaving and safety improvement project along I-90 in western New York is now complete, delivering smoother commutes and safer conditions for millions of drivers.
The $45 million infrastructure project upgraded nearly 70 lane miles of the New York State Thruway between Fredonia and Westfield. Crews resurfaced eastbound and westbound lanes between exits 59 and 60, repaired ramps and U-turns, and added new asphalt to extend the road’s lifespan.
Sixteen bridges along the stretch also received vertical clearance improvements to help prevent future bridge strikes — a growing issue across the state.
Finished on time and on budget
