LECOM officially took ownership of Saint Mary’s at Asbury Ridge and the associated community living center in a process that took 18 months.
Saint Mary’s at Asbury Ridge operated for over 20 years before the Sisters of St. Joseph of Northwestern Pennsylvania made the decision to sell the facility to LECOM.

Dr. James Lin, the president of the LECOM Institute for Successful Living, explained what this new ownership means for everyone.
“One of the things that took so long during the negotiation process is that it was important for the Sisters of St. Joseph’s and LECOM to really preserve and understand what that community is all about,” Lin said. “So, we want to make sure that the residents for that senior community, their lives are not changed by this change, and also, we want to understand the mission of the Sisters of Saint Joseph, so that we can carry on the mission that they’ve built in that community.”
