October is National Blindness Awareness Month, and the Sight Center of Northwest PA hosted a special event on Wednesday.
October 15th was National White Cane Safety Day, and the organization brought awareness to people with visual impairments.

Those at the center participated in educational programming, mobility training, and an obstacle course while learning how to properly use the white cane.
The director of operations said the cane is also a tool to help those who are visually impaired with their independence.
