Charges dropped in 2022 animal cruelty case against Summit Twp. farmer

The Erie County District Attorney’s Office has dropped criminal charges on a man accused of more than 100 counts of animal cruelty and neglect.

Gregory Havican, 52, of Summit Township was charged after state police seized more than 200 animals from his farm on Edinboro road in 2022.

State police allegedly claimed to find the remains of numerous dead animals in a burn pile on the property, and declared the living conditions at the farm as “inhumane.”…
