Sometimes I do not do any planning for The Last Word. I have no interviews set up. I just go exploring and see what I can find. Well, it’s almost Halloween. So, I’m going to drive around and search for the biggest, brightest, and scariest outdoor displays I can find. Let’s go!
I can’t wait to get started. It’s still daylight and I haven’t traveled far from the TV station when I see something spectacular. It’s a display of skeletons at the Hildebrand residence on West 35th and Norman Way in Erie. There are skeletons climbing the roof, skeletons in a sack race, and a skeleton on a trapeze. There’s a skeleton climbing a utility pole and a huge skeleton rising from the ground. Ryan Hildebrand says his wife does most of the work for their display every year. This is such a large Halloween display with many, many skeletons. I have to ask, “Where do you store all these decorations once Halloween is over?”
