Flag raised to honor ‘Model United Nations Weekend’

Friday and Saturday mark Model United Nations Weekend in Erie, and in an annual tradition, Gannon University’s Model United Nations joined the mayor’s office to raise a flag.

Thursday morning, Mayor Joe Schember and Gannon University’s Model UN invited their delegates to commemorate the upcoming weekend by raising the United Nations flag in front of City Hall.

Organizers said that this is a great opportunity for students to get real-world experience in politics
