New Truck Parking Spots To Address Driver Needs Statewide

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced plans to add 1,202 new truck parking spaces at 133 locations across the Commonwealth by the end of 2026, addressing a longstanding challenge for commercial drivers. Existing and new locations will be displayed online as they become available.

As part of this initiative, 10 new truck parking spots have been designated at four Interstate 79 on-ramps in Erie County. The Pennsylvania Turnpike is also evaluating opportunities for 600 additional spaces at emergency pull-offs, interchange ramps, and service plazas.
