Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office warning of phone scam

(WJET/WFXP)– Law enforcement in Chautauqua County is reminding residents that they will never reach out asking for payments after receiving reports of fraudulent phone calls pretending to be from them.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office said this week they’ve received several complaints about fraud, scams and prank phone calls in the area.

They’re reminding residents that they will never call to ask for a payment of any kind to satisfy a warrant or for missing jury duty.

They said if you do get a call from someone claiming to be from their office, you can call their non-emergency number for verification or to make a report at 716-753-4232…
