A member of City of Erie Mayor Joe Schember’s administration announced his resignation, effective at the end of the month.
Saeedullah Taraky has been the city’s immigrant and refugee liaison for 22 months, but on Nov. 30, he will be stepping down from the position.

Taraky, who is also the CEO of Erie’s Afghan Community Center, fled Afghanistan in 2022 after the government collapsed.
