Mother Teresa Academy plans move to former Blessed Sacrament School

(WJET/WFXP)– Plans are in the works for students to once again fill the former Blessed Sacrament School campus as early as the next school year.

The Villa Maria Cathedral Preparatory Catholic School System announced Monday that they’re planning to relocate Mother Teresa Academy to the now vacant campus by the start of the 2026-27 school year.

Blessed Sacrament School to close after school year

School officials said the move would give students and faculty more space and upgraded facilities, all in a vibrant neighborhood that would fit their enrollment demand, which is currently exceeding their current capacity.

Blessed Sacrament School closed at the end of the 2024-25 school year, and use of the former campus was left to the parish, whose officials have effectively collaborated with VMCP staff to make the move happen, one official said.

Blessed Sacrament Pastor Fr. Phil Pinczewski and the parish council have been welcoming and have effectively collaborated with our team as we have investigated this potential move.”…
