AAA warns Thanksgiving travelers of traffic and weather

Thanksgiving travelers might want to think about leaving a little earlier due to traffic and weather in the local area.

AAA predicts that there will be a record-setting 82 million people traveling, starting Tuesday and Wednesday.

Jim Garrity is the director of public affairs for AAA East Central. He said that if you are traveling, make sure to give yourself extra time.

“Know that when you are traveling the Tuesday and Wednesday before the holiday and the Sunday coming home, those are when we’re expecting very, very busy, congested times,” Garrity said. “Especially in that mid-day period, especially when people are still commuting back and forth to work, and the closer you get to those big metro cities.”
