Local Residents Invited to Shape Future of Presque Isle and Erie Bluffs State Parks Through New Survey

The Shapiro Administration has started a master planning process for the Presque Isle State Park Complex in Erie County, Pennsylvania. The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) is leading this effort. The plan will guide the development and conservation of Presque Isle State Park, the Tom Ridge Environmental Center (TREC), and Erie Bluffs State Park for the next 25 years. The process begins with a public survey. Residents and visitors are invited to share their experiences and ideas for these parks.

State Parks Director John Hallas said public participation is important. Presque Isle and Erie Bluffs receive about 4 million visits each year. The master plan will aim to protect natural resources and provide recreational opportunities. DCNR will use survey responses to review current facilities, identify future needs, and suggest improvements based on community input and conservation goals.

The public survey takes about 10 minutes to complete. It is the first step in a larger engagement process. After the survey, DCNR will hold public meetings.
