The victim of a fatal shooting on Erie’s west side early Tuesday morning has been identified, with his death being ruled a homicide.
Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook identified the victim as 23-year-old Michael Mendralla of Erie.

Cook said Mendralla died from a single gunshot wound to the lower extremities and was taken to UPMC Hamot, where he later succumbed to his injury.
