A serious two-vehicle collision occurred on Dec. 4 at approximately 8:40 p.m. on State Highway 18, just south of Wiseman Road. According to authorities, Unit 1 was traveling northbound when the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to cross over the double yellow line into the southbound lane.
Unit 1 struck the front end of Unit 2 with its passenger-side rear bed area. Following the impact, Unit 1 spun clockwise, collided with a ditch and embankment, and came to rest facing east against a utility pole on the west side of the highway. Unit 2 came to a stop facing west, partially in the southbound lane.
Emergency responders transported the driver and passenger of Unit 1 to Meadville Medical Center for treatment. Tragically, the operator of Unit 2 was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Crawford County Coroner…
