Erie kids got a special holiday treat on Tuesday. They were able to pair up with local first responders for the annual Shop with a Hero event at Walmart.
Police officers, firefighters, and EMS crews walked the aisles with children, helping them pick out gifts for themselves and their families. Organizers said the goal is to build positive relationships and make the season a little brighter for these kids.

Paiasley Wearry explained what he felt when he was going to shop with a hero.
“Yes, I am. The second I heard I was going to be shopping with a hero, I’m like, ‘Like Superman?’ and she was like, ‘No, like a police officer or a fireman,’” Wearry said. “I was like, surprised, like, ‘Oh, my God.’”
