Dave’s Diner celebrates grand re-opening in downtown Erie

A downtown diner held a ribbon-cutting for their grand re-opening on Wednesday morning.

Dave’s Diner has officially reopened in downtown erie after being closed for more than 4 years.

The retro-diner is back, bringing plenty of charm to its new home at the corner of West 5th and Peach Streets. The restaurant was formerly on North Park Row.

For the past several weeks now, the diner has been training its staff and getting back into the swing of serving hungry customers.

“I think what this represents is an upgrade not just in the amount of space available, but also with the orientation of the space, there’s a lot more opportunity to get people together,” said Drew Whiting, CEO of the Erie Downtown Development Corporation. “This place has been buzzing. We’ve had people in here from not just downtown but coming in from all over the place. We’ve had lines out the door in some cases on the weekends. We couldn’t be happier with how things have started out at Dave’s.”…
