Two volunteer fire departments in Northwest Pennsylvania are receiving critical support thanks to a partnership between the Robert Irvine Foundation and Snap-Tite. The Fairview Volunteer Fire Department and Union City Volunteer Fire Department have been awarded grants totaling more than $28,000 to purchase essential firefighting hoses—equipment considered a lifeline for firefighters during emergencies.
Union City will receive $15,193, while Fairview will receive $12,924. Snap-Tite, a leading manufacturer of firefighting hose with facilities in Erie and Union City, is extending additional cost savings to ensure the grant dollars go even further, allowing both departments to fully outfit their rigs with high-quality hoses.
The announcement was made during Erie’s annual Hero Days, a community event sponsored by Erie Insurance and Sunbelt Rentals to honor first responders, service members, and their families.
