Home Instead brings Christmas cheer to seniors

Christmas magic isn’t only for children. This Christmas, Home Instead Senior Care is sharing the holiday joy with older adults.

For 20 years, Home Instead has partnered with the community to spread holiday cheer to elders through its Be a Santa to a Senior program.

Marines, PSP join forces for toy donations at Shriners

Participants in the program selected ornaments with the name and gift wish of a senior in need and then brought the unwrapped gift to participating locations.

Amy Jennings, a coordinator from this campaign, is excited to distribute these gifts and explained why Be a Santa to a Senior is so important.

“After we get them all wrapped up, we partner with the Barber National Institute Club Erie program, and they deliver the gifts to the recipients: seniors all over the Erie area,” Jennings said. “This is important for all of the seniors in the Erie area, because we want them to know they’re not forgotten. They might be older, they might be alone and isolated, and those are the seniors that we target with this program.”…
