Honor Avery Chauncey: Blood drive & pet food event Dec. 20

A local blood bank and nonprofit are teaming up to make a change in the community.

The Community Blood Bank and Avery’s Pawsitive Change are hosting a blood drive and pet food donation event on Saturday, Dec. 20.

Fredonia water customers advised to boil water after treatment issue

This drive is to honor the late Avery Chauncey, who founded Avery’s Pawsitive Change, which helps feed thousands of animals a year. While fighting Ewing Sarcoma, Chauncey received blood product donations.

The blood/pet food drive will take place at three locations:

  • Community Blood Bank, 2646 Peach St. in Erie, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • Corry Community Center, 15 S. 1st Ave. in Corry, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • Targeted Pet Treats, 151 Struthers St. in Warren, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Appointments are encouraged and can be made by calling 814-456-420, but walk-ins are also accepted…
