The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory at 12:26 p.m. on Wednesday valid from Thursday 11 a.m. until Friday 1 a.m. for Northern Erie and Southern Erie.
“South winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected,” explains the weather service. “Winds will increase through the morning hours on Thursday, with the strongest winds expected in the afternoon and evening.”
“Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result,” says the weather service. “Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.”
