Wabtec’s Bids for Kids event raises record $317,000 for charities

On Thursday, the 30th annual Bids for Kids donation event happened at the Wabtec Customer Innovation Center.

The donations for Wabtec’s Bids for Kids charity were counted last week, and on Thursday, they were awarded to Make-A-Wish, Boys & Girls Club of Erie and Western Pennsylvania, and Shriners Hospital for Children.

Erie County municipalities, Gannon awarded over $5 million in project funding

The three organizations also received a check for just under $70,000 as a result of the raised money that Wabtec was able to collect.

James Meyer is the chief engineer for Wabtec Corporation. He said that it’s important for the company to give back in all ways possible to the community.
