Cleanup efforts at the Mellon Heritage Veterans Outreach & Wellness Campus Building are moving forward after significant water damage earlier this week. According to facility updates, carpets and walls are drying well, and only minor drywall repairs are expected in the stairwell where water sprayed continuously.
Fans will remain running through the weekend to aid drying. Beginning Monday, staff will clean and re-dry carpets, apply a solution to prevent fungal growth, and monitor conditions. The building will remain closed next week to complete the restoration process.
