Local liquor store stocked for holiday shoppers

December is the second busiest month for Discount Beer in Summit Township, but on Wednesday, they weren’t as busy as they had expected.

General manager Jon Michael said earlier in the week that they had tons of people coming in and out to make purchases. But for Christmas Eve, it’s a little calmer than in years past.

He said many people usually wait until the last minute, but a lot of customers stopped in at the beginning of the week for all their classics, such as the Great Lakes Christmas Ale.

“Next week, going into ew years, the first couple days next week will be a little passive, but then come Wednesday, Thursday, it’ll be extremely busy,” said Michael. “We have a bunch of extra inventory going in and getting ready for whoever needs the holiday cheer.”…
