Ahead of Christmas, Bishop Lawrence Persico announced his retirement as bishop for the Diocese of Erie.
After turning 75, he followed Canon Law and submitted his resignation to Pope Leo XIV in the Vatican.
According to Bishop Persico, “Because by 75, especially depending on your experience with your job, a lot of times it can get pretty tiring.”
