Pennsylvania Authorities Emphasis on Sober Driving

The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) in Erie are reminding motorists of the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, noting that impaired driving continues to cause preventable fatalities each year. PSP urges anyone planning to drink to designate a sober driver and cautions that even prescription medications can impair safe vehicle operation.

To combat impaired driving, PSP will conduct a sobriety checkpoint between January 2 and January 4, 2026, aimed at deterring DUI violations. Drivers are encouraged to make responsible choices to keep themselves and others safe.
