Erie Fitness Academy donates over $1K to help feed families during winter break

School meals are sometimes the only food students receive that day. So, members of a local gym rallied together to give back to students who might be facing food insecurity.

Erie Fitness Academy donated over $1,500 worth of food to Bethesda Lutheran Services Trinity Center.

Lucky Bean launches book club to foster community connections

This donation will feed breakfast and lunch to 50 families with about 80 kids during the winter break.

Giordano Nunemaker, co-owner and head coach at Erie Fitness Academy, said they were able to do this with monetary donations from their members.

“We know there’s a lot of families struggling with the shutdown, with Christmas, with even Thanksgiving, and a lot of families were struggling, but something that was kind of set on our heart was all the kids. We’re in with a lot of the schools, and we know that a lot of the meals that kids get are only at the school, and so on the weekends they go home and they don’t have anything to eat, and this is something that DJ and I, we wanted to figure out how we could help in some way,” said Nunemaker…
