A malfunctioning electric heating pad triggered a Monday morning fire at a two-story house in the Village of Fredonia. That’s according to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, which says Fredonia Fire responded to the fire 127 Pulaski Street shortly after 8:30 AM. Chief Joshua Myers says crews found flames on the second floor of the home on arrival. Myers says the fire was contained to the upstairs bedroom. One person was treated at Brooks Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team determined that the fire was accidental in nature. Dunkirk Fire, Alstar EMS, National Grid, and National Fuel assisted at the scene.
